We all experience fear in our lives. Fear serves a very important role in human history, it keeps us safe from harm as it kicks in an assessment of the danger levels and our ability to cope.

But some people find fear nearly intolerable. It becomes a problem that causes extreme anxiety and impacts on everyday life.

A phobia is defined as an overwhelming and debilitating fear of an object, place, situation, feeling or animal. Phobias develop when we have an unrealistic assessment of the danger or of our ability to cope with that danger, causing a lot of distress.

The good news is that fears and phobias can be successful treated using combination of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Hypnosis. Most commonly used method is gradual exposure to the object of phobia (desensitisation), first in hypnosis and then in vivo (in real life scenarios).

We can work through your most difficult and frightening situations while you are under hypnosis, using your imagination.

This allows you to stay completely in control, relaxed and calm, re-enforcing new behaviours and ensuring that change is long lasting.

I use a model called Systematic Desensitisation which gives permanent and fast results. Most clients need only a handful of sessions.

Some of the fears/phobias I can help with:

Aerophobia, fear of flying

Glossophobia, fear of public speaking

Social phobia, fear of social situations

Panikophobia, fear of panic attacks

Zoophobia, fear of animals or insects (dogs, wasps etc)

Acrophobia, fear of heights

and many more
