Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is simply a pleasant state of deep relaxation during which your awareness, senses and memory are enhanced.

Hypnotherapy enables you to tap into your own inner resources. During our sessions, we would aim to change any destructive thought patterns, attitudes and expectations – and replace them with healthy ones. Stress levels can be greatly reduced, confidence gained, and emotional problems solved for a happier and healthier life.

For example:

  • Ingrained habits can be changed
  • Irrational fears can be removed

Hypnosis is being increasingly used as an adjunct to conventional medicine where it is proving to be a valuable alternative to drugs or anaesthesia, to accelerate healing, relieve stress and control pain. Many General Practitioners are now encouraging this type of therapy to their patients.

It is important to note that no one can be hypnotised against their will, and no one can be forced to do or say things whilst under hypnosis that they do not want to do or say.

Hypnotherapy is completely natural and safe. There are no harmful side- effects. When administered by a professionally trained and skilled Hypnotherapist the benefits are long-lasting and often permanent.

During hypnosis, you will be aware of what is happening: most people do not “feel hypnotised.” You are still in control.

Suitability for therapy

You must be 18 years of age and over.
If you are younger than 18 years of age, you must have the written consent of your parent/legal guardian/carer to receive therapy.

When Hypnotherapy is not advisable

For most people, hypnotherapy is a pleasant, gentle, and extremely safe experience. There are, however, occasions when hypnosis is contraindicated. This is mainly for issues such as:

As well as some other conditions such as serious heart conditions.

If in doubt, just ask or consult your doctor.
